Every service includes timestamped photos of each section of ductwork, proving the system was cleaned to bare metal. Your fire inspector and insurer see the proof.

Documentation Your Fire Authority Accepts

Signed certificate, NFPA 96 compliance report, and IKECA credentials — formatted the way Merced County inspectors and insurers expect to see it.

Overnight & Off-Hour Scheduling

We work when your kitchen doesn’t. Overnight, between shifts, weekends — your operation never loses a service hour.

Fire Authorities

Who Enforces Hood Cleaning in Merced County?

Merced County has multiple fire authorities. The AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) that inspects your kitchen depends on your city:

City of Merced Fire Department

Covers all commercial kitchens inside the Merced city limits. The Merced Fire Prevention Division handles plan review and routine fire inspections for restaurants, hotels, and institutional kitchens.

City of Los Banos Fire Department

Los Banos runs its own municipal fire department and fire-prevention bureau. Commercial kitchen inspections are conducted directly by Los Banos Fire — not by CAL FIRE.

CAL FIRE — Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit (as Merced County Fire Department)

CAL FIRE’s MMU operates as the Merced County Fire Department under contract for unincorporated areas and contract cities including Atwater, Livingston, Gustine, and Dos Palos. The Merced County Fire Prevention Bureau handles commercial fire-prevention plan review and inspections.

Pricing

Pricing FAQ

How much does hood cleaning cost in Merced County?
Price depends on system size (number of hoods and fans), cooking type and grease load, roof access, and how long since the last real cleaning. We give a clear, itemized estimate up front — no surprise add-ons.
What’s included in a hood cleaning?
The full exhaust system cleaned to bare metal — hood, filters, ductwork, exhaust fan, and rooftop — plus before-and-after photos, a signed certificate, and documentation your fire authority and insurer accept. Fan and access-panel condition noted, so nothing’s a surprise later.
How long does a hood cleaning take?
Most single-hood systems take two to three hours from setup to final inspection. Multi-hood kitchens or heavy grease loads may run longer. We work overnight or between shifts so your kitchen never misses service.
Do you serve chain locations and enterprise accounts?
Yes. We service multi-unit accounts across the Central Valley — including Cintas-managed facilities, Aramark dining operations, and Yosemite NPS concessions — plus all eight Aramark locations at Yosemite. Consistent SOPs, consolidated invoicing, and a single point of contact.
How often does a commercial kitchen in Merced County need exhaust cleaning?
NFPA 96 sets frequency by cooking volume — high-volume and solid-fuel operations (charbroiling, wok, wood/charcoal) monthly to quarterly; moderate-volume sit-down kitchens quarterly to semi-annually; low-volume operations annually. We assess your actual system and grease load and recommend the real interval, not a calendar default.

“It’s been an uphill battle to get a quality company to clean our hood system. We’ve had them come from all over the valley. Now we’ve got Arthur here in our town… I’ve been in the business for over 40 years. Very professional, courteous, fair pricing and checks back to make sure we are satisfied.”
